In other news, I feel like I'm being pulled in too many different directions: There's the part of me that wants to get ſtraight As and become a ſcholar, the part of me that wants to practice and become a muſician and the part of me that feels aſhamed at not having gone to a party and gotten waiſted yet.
Oh, and I've decided that I uſe the word "ghetto" too much, ſo I'm going to ſtart interchanging it with "provincial." Come to think of it, I can do that, ſeeing as how I'm a New Yorker in the Midweſt. | | |
| So, for this entry, I'm taking a page out of Paul's book (forgive uſleſs expreſſion) and writing an entry entitled "bad good and ugly." So, without further ado:
BAD GOOD AND UGLY
[Note: For thoſe of you reading this on facebook, ſorry if I end up tagging like, everyone] [Note No. 2: Inſtead of having "good" "bad" and "ugly" as categories and liſting my experiences under them, I'm going to have each experience count as a category and liſt whether they are "good" "bad" or "ugly" or all that apply]

| Meriwether: Zalman, the backround of your computer is really weird. What is it? Zalman: It's a bunch of pebbles, and it's one of the images that comes with the computer. I've been too lazy to find a better image on google. Meriwether: You &383hould though, this one is really weird [and ugly]
Alright, &383o la&383t night I tried a bunch of google image &383earches on a wild goo&383e cha&383e to find an appropriate image for my de&383ktop. So the fir&383t keyword I entered was "heaven." Go ahead! I dare you! Do a google image &383earch for heaven, and &383ee what comes up.
Anyways, after that I tried a &383earch for "clouds" and ended up with the mo&383t ghetto a&383&383ortment of clouds I've ever &383een. Having failed that, I eventually ended up &383ettling for Gu&383tave Doré's la&383t illu&383tration of The Divine Comedy.
That's not really what I wanted though. I wanted a picture of crumbling ionic collumns on ſome ſtone checkerboard plane that extended off into infinity while ſimultaneouſly floating through the heavens with the ſun ſetting in the diſtance. Go figure.
In other news, I ſpilled juice all over my crotch in Math claſs today and had to walk around the campus looking like a girl who has juſt had her firſt period. Fun.

| Currently liſtening to: the Kyrie from Mozart's Requiem. Sam, if you're reading this on facebook, you muſt go to my xanga to hear this piece (again, www.xanga.com/In_Saecvia_Saecviorvm).
Me and Meri had a nice time on Friday night, baſically chilling (ſigh... yes, at Starbucks). Afterwards, however, I realized I was locked out of my room, ſo I went to the ſecond floor ſtudy lounge and tried to ſleep there. It was a little awkward trying to go to ſleep to the noiſe of people in the hallways and bathrooms near by drinking and throwing up. I didn't think anyone would come into the ſtudy lounge on Friday night, ſo it was pretty awkward when a bunch of ſophomores walked in on me in the dark, ſleeping without my ſhirt on. I ended up joining their game of Uno for a few hours though--that was pretty fun.
Anyway, I went to viſit Sam and his girlfriend Sandra the next day. It was pretty fun--we went to the muſeum of Science and Induſtry where we enjoyed (aſide from the free brownies and ſoda offered by the Univerſity of Chicago) ſeveral exhibits, the moſt exciting of which was deffinitely the fairy tale caſtle (deſpite its irrelevence to Science and Induſtry).

The next morning we went to this diner in the hood. It gave me a really good idea for a movie--it's called Diner and it's about the hillarious and outſpoken crazies that make up an urban diner on the ſouth ſide of Chicago. And yes, the ſequal is called Diner 2: Back in buſineſs.
In other news, I'm ſtill ſort of wondering if I fit in at Northweſtern. It's pretty hard to figure out where you belong among 7,000 undergrads. To thoſe of you who have aſked me "how's Northweſtern?", I ſtill need ſome more time before I can back to you on that. We'll ſee.

| This Kyrie is actually really, really cool.
